Party-Starting Cucumber Jalapeňo Margarita

Party-Starting Cucumber Jalapeňo Margarita

Julia Canella | Recipes | 02 December 2023

Worth the small effort, this is the kind of cocktail that'll be on high rotation this summer.

Best devoured with tasty nibbles, and seriously good company.

Cucumber Jalapeňo Margarita | Serves 2

Required

  • Blender
  • Cocktail shaker
  • Strainer
  • Cheesecloth

  • Ingredients

    • 1 large cucumber, chopped
    • 1 Jalapeño, chopped, seeds removed if you don't desire spice
    • 60ml triple-sec liqueur, we used Cointreau L'Unique
    • 60ml tequila blanco, we used Espolón
    • Juice from half a lime
    • 30ml Agave, optional. See note.
    • Tajín seasoning, or regular salt

    • Add cucumber and Jalapeño to your blender along with 4 cups water, and blend to create a juice.

Place cheesecloth in a strainer over a small bowl, strain the juice, and place it into a storage container to refrigerate for future tipples (you won't use it all for this recipe).

Rim your serving glasses with a lime wedge, then dip them into your chosen seasoning.

In your cocktail shaker, add ice, liqueur, tequila, lime juice, 60ml strained juice, agave, and shake-shake-shake.

Strain mixture into your cocktail glasses, and garnish – we've used cucumber ribbons, Jalapeño slices and a lime coin.

      Note

In place of Agave, you can combine equal parts water-sugar in a saucepan on low heat, until dissolved. Omit altogether if you prefer less sweetness.
